Gareth studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire focusing on arranging, percussion and music theory. As former Director of Music at Xaverian College Manchester and Wyke College Hull, he guided his students to A-level and prepared them for higher education music studies. He gives lessons and workshops in the following areas:

Gareth Reaks has an incredible capacity for making 'difficult' learning effortless, painless, and most importantly enjoyable. It is clear that he has a very real passion for both music and teaching which is beneficial to a student in many different ways. As well as laying a solid theoretical foundation upon which a student may build, Gareth opens students up to new areas and ways of thinking and listening to music with the enthusiasm that only a few teachers possess. He is skilled in many areas such as harmony, history, and contemporary music, and it is fair to say that I owe my current aptitude and passion for music almost entirely to Gareth Reaks.
